Nectar card customers can get up to £37 free when they shop at Argos this weekendGetty
Customers who shop in-store or online from tomorrow to Monday, July 31, will get five times the amount of Nectar points for a single transaction.
The amount of extra points you can earn will depend on how much you spend.
One Nectar Card point is worth 0.5p.
So if you bought a £1,139 iPhone 14 Pro Max this weekend, you could collect 5,695 Nectar points, worth around £28.
A £1,500 Habitat Leather corner sofa would bag you a huge 7,500 points, which is worth around £37.
Or a £749 Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 can offer 3,745 points, worth around least £18.
Customers just need to spend just £1 on their shop in store and swipe their Nectar card or scan their app before checking out.
Of course, you should only buy something if you need it or you were planning on buying it anyway.
You shouldn’t spend more than you can afford just to get the extra Nectar points.
The offer has been launched in honour of Argos’s 50th Birthday.
Nectar has also been giving away a total of over 1.5 million points to celebrate five decades of Argos.
50,000 points have been up for grabs each day, with the lucky winners being chosen at random throughout August.
Sainsbury’s ran a similar offer back in February when customers could get up to £25 free.
What is a Sainsbury’s Nectar Card?
Sainsbury’s loyalty scheme is called the Nectar Card.
Shoppers earn points when they spend money at Sainsbury’s, Argos, Sainsbury’s petrol stations and other retailers including eBay and Dulux Decorator Centres.
You can get one point per £1 on all qualifying spends at Sainsbury’s supermarkets and online.
You can also collect one point for every 1 litre of fuel when you fill up at Sainsbury’s petrol stations.
One Nectar Card point is worth 0.5p, so you have to get 200 Nectar points to get £1.
A total of 500 points are worth £2.50 at Sainsbury’s.
Once you have enough points you can turn them into vouchers to buy your next food shop at Sainsbury’s.
You can use the points to bag plane tickets at Expedia, train tickets from Eurostar or cinema tickets for Vue cinemas too.
Customers shopping in Sainsbury’s supermarkets or online can also get discounts on hundreds of items initially, spanning household products, pet food and confectionary, with Nectar Prices.
The discounts are automatically applied to their bill when the shoppers use their Nectar app or card at checkout.
Those who don’t have a Nectar card can still easily access Nectar Prices by downloading the app.
Members can also continue to receive personalised discounts of up to 30% on their favourite items when they use the SmartShop app to scan their items in-store.
Every week, customers will find personalised lower prices for certain items with Your Nectar Prices.
