As with all major prizes, the claim will now go through the process of validation, which includes checks to ensure the Games Rules Terms and Conditions are adhered to and the integrity of The National Lottery is protected.
Subject to validation the prize will then be paid at an appointment with one of Camelot’s Winners’ Advisers.
Once the ticket has been validated and paid, the ticket-holder will then decide whether or not to go public and share their news.
The news comes ahead of the EuroMillions draw this evening, where a massive jackpot of £112m is up for grabs.
A single winner would be richer than Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, who is worth a whopping £92m according to The Sunday Times Rich List.
They would also immediately become the 12th biggest UK EuroMillions winner of all time.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, said, “It’s great news that this wonderful Lotto jackpot has now been claimed. September has been an amazingly lucky month for Lotto players, an incredible 11 Lotto millionaires have been made so far.
“We will now focus our efforts on supporting the winner through the claim process, so they can begin to enjoy their life-changing win.”
