A NASA scientist has revealed that the space agency has held conferences about what it would do if the James Webb telescope finds evidence of another populated planet.
The expert recently spoke about the potential of finding aliens at an event in New York City.

Speaking at Artechouse’s Beyond the Light exhibit, Nasa scientist Dr. Michelle Thaller told a small group of attendees: “We actually work with SETI – the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.
“There are extra scientists that are searching the sky for signs of alien civilizations.
“We’ve had conferences about what happens if the James Webb Space Telescope observes an atmosphere of a planet around another star and we see things that don’t look natural.”
Dr. Thaller works as a scientist at Nasa’s Goddard Space Flight Center and has decades of experience.
She suggested signs of “things that don’t look natural” would include evidence of pollution on a distant planet.
The expert did not reveal the strategy for confirming and revealing to the world that alien life has been found.
She does believe that aliens are out there and it’s only a matter of time until we have proof.
The $10billion James Webb Space Telescope is on a journey into deep space and is sending back new images almost every day.
Dr. Thaller hopes that it will soon find a planet that’s just like Earth.
Dr. Thaller continued: “The Webb Telescope has the ability to actually detect chemicals, gases that are in planets around other stars.
“We’ve done this already with Webb but all the planets have been very different from Earth.
“I’m hoping this year maybe that we find one that’s very similar to Earth.”
She also believes that alien life could be a lot closer to home and even within our own Solar System.
Dr. Thaller thinks microbial life could be found on Venus, Mars, or even Saturn’s largest moon, Titan.
