Nasa hid five secret messages in its latest space trip – did you spot them?

NASA has revealed five hidden messages it scattered around their recent Artemis I Orion Spacecraft.

The uncrewed ship was filled with special items as it whizzed up and around the moon, before returning to Earth on Sunday.

Shaun the Sheep, four Lego mini figures and 245 Silver Snoopy pins were among the haul on board.

But the space agency also planted some secret tributes.

The red bird located in the upper right is in memory of Mark Geyer, a former Orion program manager and Johnson Space Center director.

He passed away last year.

The bird represents the St Louis Cardinals baseball team, which Geyer was a massive fan of.

Above the Callisto-Alexa technology demo area in the middle are some strange dots.

It’s actually morse code symbols spelling out “Charlie”, in a nod to Orion Deputy Program Manager Charlie Lundquist.

Lundquist – who died in 2020 – played a huge role in Orion’s development.

Below Callisto in front of the pilot’s seat you’ll see some numbers.

These represent the country codes for the United States, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Spain and the Netherlands, who participated in building the spacecraft’s European Service Module.

Elsewhere, you may have seen the letters CBAGF – it’s on the right side, next to the pilot seat and below one of the windows.

CBAGF are music notes to Frank Sinatra‘s 1964 hit Fly Me to the Moon.

And finally, there’s a binary code for the number 18 on the top of the pilot’s seat.

This is meant to recognise Nasa’s history of travel to the Moon with the Apollo Program and to celebrate a human spacecraft’s return to the Moon after Apollo 17 for the Artemis Generation.
