However, the club now appear set to lose a number of top stars, including defensive stalwart Kim.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness, club “insiders” now “take it for granted” the 26-year-old will be a Red Devils player by the end of the transfer window.

The report suggests United will pay his £43million release clause, though the final fee will depend on the turnover of the buying party, suggesting the fee could be inflated.

Previous reports have suggested the deal could be worth up to £56m.

Indeed, it has also been claimed that the Red Devils have already identified a house for Kim ahead of the move.

SunSport revealed last month that United chiefs are desperate to seal the deal for Kim before rival clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain had the chance to pounce.

With the Serie A wrapping up this weekend, Kim has so far played 35 games for the Naples outfit.

After signing from Fenerbache for £15m last summer, Napoli are in line to more than triple their money in the space of 12 months.

In terms of salary, United have reportedly offered a contract worth £7.8m-a-year.

The club’s link with Kim come with rumours outlining a big summer spending spree, which could see United splash a whopping £365m on FIVE stars.

Mason Mount and Harry Kane are chief among these targets, with United said to have agreed personal terms with the former.

SunSport understands Harry Maguire could be put on the table to try and sweeten the deal.

Ahead of the all-Manchester FA Cup final it was reported United have now opened discussions with Chelsea.

The Blues want £70m for Mount, though the Red Devils are aiming for a deal between £50m-£60m.
