Naomi Watts has finally shared some details about her ”secret wedding” to actor husband, Billy Crudup.
The British-Australian star, 55, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week and admitted they had a courthouse wedding in New York as they wanted to get married rather ”quickly”.
She added: ”It was very special and very memorable.”

“It just happened that way,” she said about the courthouse nuptials.
“We knew we wanted to do it, it was something we were very keen on doing and quickly. It’s an efficient way to do it.”
She added: “It was really lovely. It was a classic New York day. You ran into all kinds of people, some were dressed to the nines, some were walking quickly in and out.”

Watts delighted fans when she confirmed she and longtime partner Billy Crudup had married in secret in June 2023 after more than five years together.
The actress and her American actor husband sparked rumours they’d wed when pictures emerged of them in formal attire and matching rings on June 9.
Paparazzi snaps showed Watts in a white lace gown and speculation was rife for days until she confirmed the happy news with a loved-up photo she captioned “Hitched!”.
She wore a lace Oscar de la Renta Sweetheart Water Lilly Guipure Dress for the special day and confessed that she picked up her understated bouquet from a local deli.
The famously private pair had been dating since 2017, after working together on the Netflix series Gypsy, and have been smitten ever since.
Watts became more public with her romance with Crudup on Instagram in 2022 and 2023, sharing selfies together to celebrate milestones like his birthday and Valentine’s Day.
She then sparked engagement rumours when she appeared with a glittering ring on her left hand in April, though she avoided questions about the rock.
“My eye is hurting. There’s a big glint coming from some ring over here,” Today Show USA host Hoda Kotb joked when Watts appeared on the show that month.
“Hoda is asking if you’re engaged,” Kotb’s co-host Savannah Guthrie added, but Watts just laughed and quipped about “brain fog” while evading the question.
Watts shares two children with ex Liev Schreiber, Alexander ‘Sasha’ Pete, born in 2007, and Samuel Kai, born in 2008. Watts and Schreiber dated for over a decade before parting ways in 2016.
Crudup also has a child from a previous relationship. He shares son William Atticus with his former partner actress Mary-Louise Parker, who he dated until 2003.
He made headlines when he split from Parker while she was six months pregnant and began a romance with actress Claire Danes, who he dated until 2006.
