The football game may be the Super Bowl‘s main attraction, but delicious snacks come in at a close second.
Celebrities went all out with their party food for the big game on Sunday, February 12. Jessie James Decker, for one, baked brownies in the shape of a football. “It did look like a football, but it’s all melted now,” the reality star, 34, quipped in an Instagram Story video, referring to her dessert’s icing. “It looked really good. Whatever. It’s a brownie and it’s gonna be yummy.”
According to celebrity chef Guy Fieri, the key to a good Super Bowl menu is variety. “I’m big into [the] diversity of the menu. I like a real eclectic menu,” the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host, 55, exclusively told Us Weekly in January. “I want the ability to eat a lot [or] to eat a little. I want the ability to have all different types of flavors.”
This means incorporating all kinds of finger foods and other snacks that are easy to grab with toothpicks. “I don’t want it to be just one theme like it’s just, ‘We’re just doing cold cuts,’” he explained. “I’ll have a cold cut section, a meatball section, some chicken tenders and some sauces and [a] cheese section, but the key is to make the baseline foundation. And the bread is probably one of the things that gets the most like, ‘Oh, yeah, get some bread.’ No, get some King’s Hawaiian [and] do this the right way.”
This year, however, the Guy’s Grocery Games host didn’t have a Super Bowl party — because he was at the game instead. The restaurateur is a Las Vegas Raiders fan, but he was still thrilled to watch the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Philadelphia Eagles at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. “I want a great game,” he told Us last month. “It’s gonna be fun.”
While Fieri’s team was out of contention this year, other celebrities weren’t shy to share their love for the Chiefs or the Eagles. Kevin Hart, who was born and raised in Philadelphia, claimed that he bought a real eagle for $16.5 million to show his love for his favorite NFL squad.
“I believe when you work hard, you should treat yourself,” the comedian, 43, quipped in an Instagram video on Tuesday, February 7. “And that’s exactly what I did. Ladies and gentlemen, I splurged a little bit. I went and bought an eagle.”
The camera then cut to a wildlife handler holding the bird, which Hart said he named Jalen Hurts in honor of the Eagles quarterback. “Jalen, you live here now,” the Ride Along actor told the animal while mixing up a cocktail he called the Screaming Eagle. “Welcome home.”
