A MAN has said Mother’s Day was a disaster after the flowers he had delivered to his mum were virtually dead and mouldy when they arrived.
Bryan Thompson, 51, realised on Friday he’d forgotten to get his mum a gift and so ordered a dozen red roses and an afternoon tea gift through Amazon.

As Bryan lives in Camberley, Surrey, and his pensioner mum Judith is in Berwick-upon-Tweed in Northumberland, some 400 miles apart, taking them himself wasn’t an option.
However, the loving gesture went horribly wrong as he says that while the flowers arrived in time they were mouldy and almost dead.
To make matters worse, while Bryan ordered red roses – the ones that were presented to his mum were orange.
Bryan told The Sun Online: “She was so upset. She was so shocked.
“She only let me know to tell me how bad they were.”
Judith told him: “My flowers are rotten, all mouldy and the heads have fallen off.
“They wouldn’t stand upright and they have rotted. The heads come off when you touch them. Dad says they smell rotten.”
What are my rights if my Mother’s Day flowers go wrong?
If your flowers are already wilting, or have browning petals and leaves, you might be entitled to a refund.
This also applies if they arrived crushed, damaged, or don’t match the description online.
According to consumer group Which? your complaint should be covered under the Consumer Rights Act and must be made directly to the florist or shop where you bought them.
Your refund should include the initial cost of the flowers, as well as any delivery charges.
To start the process, you need to take a picture of your flowers to support your complaint – this goes for whether you’re the sender, or receiver.
Then provide the florist with as much information about your order as possible, include any order numbers and the delivery address.
You will also be able to get the delivery charges refunded if you paid extra for it to be delivered on a specific day.
Bryan said: “It’s just unbelievable. So bad. I’m so upset as well. It’s the sentiment that matters.”
When Bryan contacted Amazon, he claims they refused to give him an update on their investigation.
They offered to refund the flowers, but only offered £5 as compensation, he said.
The Sun Online had contacted Amazon for comment.
