My ‘healthy’ son Michael Naylor, 31, told me he was going out – moments later he collapsed and died in hospital

A DAD told his family he was “going into town” then suddenly collapsed and died the following day.

Football fan Michael Naylor, 31, had a heart attack at home before a “catastrophic” bleed on the brain was discovered during a scan.

Michael Naylor died after suffering a ‘catastrophic’ bleed on the brain

He spent several hours in hospital before passing away on December 17 last year, MEN reports.

Michael, from Haughton Green, Greater Manchester, had epilepsy but no other underlying health conditions.

The avid Manchester United supporter’s dad Kenneth told an inquest how his son had showered and eaten breakfast as normal on December 16.

He then walked upstairs to let his daughter know that he was popping out.

But Kenneth said he heard a “bang” from above and found chef Michael on the floor behind his bedroom door.

He and Michael’s sister Charlotte carried out CPR before he was rushed to Tameside General Hospital, a coroner heard.

There, doctors gave him a “clot-busting” agent before a CT scan revealed a “massive haemorrhage” and “non-survivable bleed to the brain”.

A neurologist described the bleed as “catastrophic”.

Coroner Alison Mutch concluded Michael’s epilepsy and related medication played no part in his death.

Giving evidence, Kenneth said: “He was a fit and healthy boy – full of life.

“He never took drugs. Devastating is not the word for it.”

Charlotte, 29, added: “He was just really bubbly and really polite.

“He loved his job and he loved going on holiday.

“He was also a mad Man U fan. He just tried to live his life to the best.”
