A PROUD Ford Capri owner has revealed people are always stopping to ask him about his motor because it’s “just a cool car”.
The man, who likes to showcase his various cars on his YouTube channel Trigs Retro Motors, showed off his stunning Ford Capri 2.0 Laser that he had recently bought from an elderly neighbour – after it had been locked away in a garage for 20 years.

The vintage motor, which is a cult favourite among car fans, needed a bit of work before it could hit the road – including new tyres and a fresh paint job.
He said: “I bought the car last September after somebody in my village contacted my wife and said that their relative had died and they had inherited a Ford Capri which was in the garage.
“It’s been there for 20 years and they were just wanted to get rid of it.”
“It had flat tyres, cobwebs on the floor, boxes on the roof – you know the usual barn finds.
“We agreed on a price and I spent the next couple of months with my dad going right through the car.
“We replaced all the rubber, the engine parts… we really went through it.”
After a few more tweaks, that included fixing a few “electrical gremlins”, the Capri was able to fire up.
He said: “It runs and drives beautifully.
“It’s done 96,000 miles, but it’s only had one owner before us and he looked after it well.
“It’s a great car and I get a lot of fun driving it and you get a lot of reactions, as you can imagine.
“Everyone wants to talk to you about your Capri, you go to a petrol station and everyone comes up to you.
“It’s just a cool car.”
This comes after an “exceptionally rare” Capri, considered to be the “ultimate” by enthusiasts, has gone up for auction.
The motor, which may look like an ordinary Capri on the outside, packs a serious punch under the bonnet thanks to an “in-period Turbo Technics conversion” – giving it an impressive 200bhp.
Described as being an “exceptionally rare example of an already highly desirable Capri”, the motor goes up for auction on Boxing Day and collectors are warned “they may struggle to find another” like it.
Elsewhere, a group of car detailing specialists have breathed new life into a classic Mercedes that was set for the scrap heap.
The Mercedes 300TD had been in the Ohio car yard for “over a decade” where it had slowly deteriorated.
