And the digital marketing coach said that the lucrative side-hustle can see you earn money without even showing your face.
The TikToker told viewers: “Did you know you could make $900 (£708) in three hours in a stupid easy way all from your computer? Well, let me show you.”
He then turned the camera around to face his MacBook screen before instructing people to visit a website called textbroker.com.
“Textbroker wants to pay you for every word you type,” he explained.
“Go right ahead to the top, where it says ‘I Write Content’ and then go to payment.
“As you see, Textbroker wants to pay you $489.50 (£385) for typing 8900 words.”
He then looked up the average number of words a person from the United States of America can speak in about a minute, which is 150, according to Virtual Speech.
“Which means it’ll only take you an hour for about 9000 words,” he explained.
“Now, here’s what makes it stupid easy… You don’t even have to type out the words yourself.”
The TikToker explains that you can use “voice-typing” on Google Docs to reach your word count.
He added that during the last hour, people should check all their grammar and spelling through Grammarly.
As always, TikTokers were quick to take to the comments section to share their opinion.
One said: “Can’t you just use chatgpt??”
Another commented: “I’m about to do this.”
“A few steps that could be real valuable,” wrote a third.
However, others pointed out some flaws of the moneymaking method.
“Textbroker is pretty specific about their requirements. I saw another video just like this, and it’s not this easy. Just a heads up!” said one.
While a number of comments stated that they could not sign up as they were not US citizens.
And one TikToker who claimed to have used the method before said that although you could make money, the earnings were overstated.
Barry said in their “review” of the side-hustle that it was far more “time-consuming” as advertised.
The reviewer added that it took around three hours to write “2,000 to 3,000 words”, which netted around $30 (£23.21).
