A FAMILY have been left devastated after a mum-of-three tragically died following a £2,000 gastric sleeve operation in Turkey.
Leanne Michelle Leary, 38, from Oldham, travelled to Istanbul for the procedure which, if successful, would remove 80% of her stomach.

The mum had sent an excited snap from the hospital to her family Whatsapp chat – but her loved ones grew worried when they lost contact with Leanne for several hours.
Concerned family members eventually learned that Leanne had suffered a heart attack but was in a stable condition.
However, before her loved ones were able to fly out to the Turkish capital, Leanne had suffered a second and fatal heart attack.
The mum-of-three had opted for the procedure after struggling to lose the baby weight from giving birth to her teenage boys.
Leanne’s family have been left wondering how her condition worsened so quickly – with Rochdale Coroner’s Court confirming an inquest into her death will take place in due course.
Ex-husband Steven Leary said Leanne jetted off alone to Turkey on June 30.
He said she underwent preliminary tests the following day before going under the knife later that afternoon.
“The procedure was for a gastric sleeve which is supposed to remove 80 per cent of your stomach,” he told Manchester Evening News.
“It was £2,000 for the whole package.
“I think the same procedure if you went privately in the UK was around £12,000.”
In the meantime, Steven says the ordeal has left the family devastated.
“Leanne was very bubbly and the life and soul of the party.
“She was very kind and generous and always willing to help other people even when she might need it herself.
“My son is very angry.
“It was very unexpected and you don’t expect when you pay thousands of pounds for a medical procedure that this is going to happen.
“Her daughters are heartbroken.”
A friend of Leanne has launched a GoFundMe page in her memory.
