A mum revealed the big mistake she made when booking family flights with Ryanair

The mum said they had to pay £165 to check in at the airport

The mum, who recently shared a video showing how to do a Magaluf holiday for £150, posted her recent problem on the social media site.

She said in the video: “If you’re thinking of flying with Ryanair, you need to know this.

“So we booked these flights yesterday and we were rushing.

“We forgot to check in online.

“Here we are paying £165 for the pleasure of checking in at the desk.”

She said it was a “schoolboy error” and that there was “no excuse for their stupidity”.

She warned other families to “learn from us,” adding: “Did you know this about Ryanair? We did and it didn’t stop us.”

Thousands of people liked the TikTok video, with others sharing their stories of being caught out too.

One person wrote: “Our family of 4 was travelling in December last year, tickets cost £22 each but forgot to check-in, had to pay £220 was gutted.”

Another said: “Happened to me 3 weeks ago. I normally don’t check in until I’m at the airport. Got there 2 mins after the 2hr timescale and had to pay £110.”

Others loved the advice – one person said: “I booked Ryanair flights today and did not know about this so thank you!”

It’s not the only pricey Ryanair mistake that people have made.

One family had to pay an extra £113 for their seats and baggage after not checking in.

And Ryanair has some of the strictest hand luggage rules – here is how much you can take onboard.
