The snow still continues to affect flights with hundreds cancelled over the past few days.

According to aviations analytic website Cirium, more than 500 flights were cancelled in the last 48 hours.

Another 75 flights have been cancelled today, according to the Independent, affecting as many as 10,000 passengers flying to and from the UK.

British Airways has cancelled around 30 flights today, mainly affecting domestic routes and short haul flights to Europe such as Amsterdam and Zurich.

Ryanair has also been affected, with 20 flights across London Stansted and Gatwick cancelled.

However, a Ryanair spokesperson said they had to delay and cancel just a “small number of over 2,500 flights” and passengers had been contacted.

Other airlines such as Wizz Air and Lufthansa have also cancelled a number of UK flights.

Brits who have flights today are urged to contact their airlines to see if they have been affected by the cancellations.

On Saturday, Manchester Airport was forced to close both runways due to the heavy snowfall.

Desperate families were forced to sleep on airport floors over the weekend after flights were massively delayed and cancelled.

One woman, who was flying from Stansted Airport, tweeted: “Flight cancelled yesterday so had to sleep on the airport floor. Not a rep in sight!”

Another passenger Joanita shared images of people sleeping on the airport floor, tweeting: “How can you not care about the well being of your passengers.

“Literally left us out to freeze in the cold because of cancelled flights. No lounge access.”
