Moments you may have missed from the 2024 Grammys

This year’s Grammy Awards were full of its usual glitz and glamour, rare celeb spottings and lots of drama, amidst all the chaos, here are some moments you may have missed. 

Miley Cyrus’ five outfit changes and family feud:

Cyrus stole headlines for her various separate outfit changes and for cementing her family’s beef rumours.

Nominated for six awards, the singer won her first ever Grammys, starting the night with a bold naked dress made from safety pins and designed by Maison Margiela. 

The singer-songwriter kicked off the night by winning her first-ever Grammy for best pop solo performance from her song Flowers

She accepted the award in her second look for the night, a sultry Tom Ford jumpsuit, adorned with thousands of black sequins, matching perfectly with Mariah Carey who announced the category.

The iconic looks didn’t stop there, for her performance of Flowers was done in a’ 70s mini-dress reminiscent of a Barbarella.

Her fourth outfit change was into a lace set which featured a fringed bustier and shawl, this look was completed with black heels and stunning earrings. 

Cyrus’ final look of the night, prior to winning the record of the year for Flowers, featured a one-shoulder brown sequined dress with a split that went all the way up to her hip.

The Cyrus family feud:

The night was a family affair with mother Tish Cyrus attending alongside Miley’s sister Brandi, this sent rumours flying about the alleged Cyrus family beef.

This family feud is speculated to have followed the separation of Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus, allegedly Miley’s youngest sister Noah is said to have taken her dad’s side while the remaining siblings stand with Tish.

These rumours were further cemented today when Miley omitted her dad and Noah from the speech she gave after winning the Record of the Year. 

Celine Dion and Taylor Swift’s heartwarming moment:

You might have missed this adorable moment between surprise guest Celine Dion and record-breaking Taylor Swift, who became the first person in history to win four Grammys for best album of the year. 

Dion, who has been undergoing a health battle with Stiff-Person Syndrome, appeared to present the best album of the year which was awarded to Swift. 

“Thank you, all! I love you right back,” Dion said before the presentation, the singer-songwriter icons then shared a heartfelt embrace after the award was given. 

Billie Eilish’s tribute to the Barbie movie:

With Barbie dominating the fashion world since its release last year, it’s no surprise that Billie Eilish took the stage in an iconic outfit almost identical to the 1965 limited-edition 1965 “Poodle Parade Barbie.”

She performed her contribution to the Barbie movie at the Grammys alongside her brother Finneas, singing What Was I Made For, which featured on the record-breaking film’s soundtrack. 

Oprah’s tribute to Tina Turner:

Oprah made an unexpected appearance in honour of Tina Turner, taking to the stage in front of a photo of the late singer smiling.

The television host shared some advice that Turner had given her, “She used to say to me, ‘Oprah, you should dress up for dinner, even if no one else is there. Just so you feel beautiful to you. For yourself.'”

Oprah went on to introduce The Colour Purple’s Fantasia Barrino, who was joined by Adam Blackstone and some backup singers. 

Billy Joel performed for a second time

Aside from being lucky enough to hear Billy Joel perform his first song in decades, Turn The Lights Back on, we also got a second performance from him.

Closing out the show, he played the classic hit You May Be Right, living up to his iconic Piano Man nickname.
