Millions of TVs receive two more free channels TOMORROW – how to find them

TWO channels will be available to everyone for free tomorrow via Freeview.

And it’s great for anyone who loves horror or crime shows.

Channels are set to arrive on WednesdayGetty – Contributor

HorrorXtra will launch on Freeview for the first time on channel 69.

It replaces Reality Xtra 2.

The channel was already available on Sky, Virgin Media and Freesat but it’s broadcasting hours were limited to 5pm to 2am.

With its launch on Freeview, HorrorXtra will now go on air at 8am providing a daytime schedule of scary programmes.

The other big arrival is called Real Crime.

It’s a brand new channel which does what it says on the tin.

Real Crime is a streamed channel, so it’s only available to WiFi connected smart TVs or Freeview Play box owners.

It’ll be on channel 288.

You may need to retune your TV or set-top box to see them.

Another huge change coming to Freeview this week is to BBC One.

As part of the broadcaster’s HD upgrade plans, some regions will now be in HD on channel 101.

BBC One West HD, BBC One South West HD, BBC One North East & Cumbria HD, BBC One North West HD, BBC One South HD (South), BBC One South HD (Oxford), BBC One East HD (East West), BBC One East HD (East East) and BBC One South East HD will be available on 101 depending on your region.

101 was originally just BBC One HD with no regional variations, leaving viewers with the dreaded red screen that appeared during the local news telling you to change channel.

The change means you’ll no longer have to switch channel to see your local news, it’ll all be in one place.
