SPORTS viewers have been warned that a popular streaming app is closing down for good in a matter of days.
The BT Sport app will stop working on Thursday (October 12).
TNT Sports replaced BT Sport on July 18
Football, rugby and UFC games have continued to appear on the platform after BT Sport was rebranded as TNT Sports in July.
But BT has announced that the BT Sport app and web player will disappear this week.
Users will have to switch to Discovery+ to watch their favourite games going forward.
The firm has assured customers “nothing else in your package is changing” and “you can keep watching the TNT Sports channels as usual” through traditional TV channels.
“As part of our partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, the discovery+ app is the new streaming home for TNT Sports, replacing the BT Sport app,” the company explained.
“This means that to continue watching TNT Sports online including features such as TimeLine Markers, 4K HDR and full event replays, you will need to download the discovery+ app.”
Some users have reacted angrily to the move, saying they stuck with BT Sport as the new app doesn’t work on their TV.
“And those with older smart TVs cant download the new discovery app,” one person complained.
“What a great service. Its like they’re actively trying to refuse my money.
“No wonder people hunt for dodgy streams instead.”
Another said: “Tnt app is rubbish ..buffers all the time.”
A third added: “Apart from the fact the streaming is rubbish!! Glitches every 30 seconds! Unwatchable. Was fine before on BT ap”
