Millions of PS5 owners make three common mistakes and the first wastes your money

EVEN long-time PlayStation gamers might be making a few silly mistakes.

The Sun has picked out three common errors that PS5 owners might be making – saving you money, time and storage space respectively.

Here are the PS5 mistakes to avoid…

Not using wishlist

The first mistake you’re making is not saving games to your wishlist.

If you’ve bought a PlayStation 5, chances are that you want to play some video games.

But paying full price can feel frustrating if you find out that the game has been discounted before without you realizing.

The PlayStation Store regularly discounts games, including blockbuster titles.

By saving games to your wishlist, you’ll receive notifications for those titles when the price changes.

That way you won’t accidentally miss a steal.

Just press the heart icon on the store page for a game that you’d like to buy in the future.

This system also works in the iPhone and Android apps.

Not having automatic updates

Have you ever logged on to play a game, only to be greeted with a giant update?

Whether it’s an update to the system or for the game itself, it can be seriously annoying.

Instead, try setting up Automatic Updates so that you’re never delayed when it’s time to game.

It’s a big mistake to ignore this powerful feature.

First go to Settings > System > System Software Update and Settings to ensure your PS5 installs software updates automatically.

And then go to Settings > Saved Data and Game Settings to switch on automatic updates for your games.

The only other thing to note is that you’ll need to have your PS5 in Rest Mode for this to work.

So when it’s time to switch the console off, choose Rest Mode rather than a full power down.

Wasting storage with trophies

Lastly, you might not realize it but you’re probably wasting loads of storage space.

Your PS5 automatically captures footage whenever you earn a trophy.

It might not sound like much, but these 15-second 4K clips can quickly add up.

You may be losing gigabytes of storage space to videos that you’ll never watch – and maybe didn’t even know existed.

Go to Settings > Captures and Broadcasts > Auto-Captures.

Then choose Trophies > Video Clips and consider changing the settings.

To avoid wasting any storage, set it to none, or Platinum only.

You can delete any existing recordings by going into your PS5 Media Library.
