Miley Cyrus Continues Her Vintage Streak in a High-Leg Bandeau Thongkini

Miley Cyrus‘s vintage fashion streak forges on. The “Flowers” singer wore a bold red thongkini from the archives while promoting her upcoming eighth studio album, “Endless Summer Vacation.” In a photo she posted on Instagram on Feb. 20, Cyrus stretches her body in swimwear designed by Tom Ford for Gucci’s spring 1997 collection.

The bandeau-style top and high-leg bottoms have a subtle ombré pattern, transitioning from bright crimson to deep burgundy. The bottoms are fastened by a silver ring buckle tie on one side, adding some unexpected hardware to the look. The barely there design calls attention to Cyrus’s expansive tattoo collection – and her killer abs, of course.

In her caption, Cyrus appeared to tease lyrics from a forthcoming track, writing, “I’m driving around town in a beat up old mercedes, you think I’m crazy. You might be right.” Her album is set to drop on March 10, so we’ll have to wait until then to see which song these lyrics are from.

Cyrus and her stylist Bradley Kenneth have worked together to pull tons of vintage pieces for the “Endless Summer Vacation” rollout. On the album cover, Cyrus trapezes in a black cutout Alaïa bodysuit from the ’90s, and in her “Flowers” music video, she struts through Los Angeles in a gold lamé gown from YSL’s fall 1991 collection. While celebrating her latest single’s release last month, the superstar wore a plunging Tom Ford-for-Gucci minidress featuring long bell sleeves and a clasp accent across her chest. We’re giddy just thinking about the other throwback looks they have hiding up their sleeves.

Although Cyrus’s red bikini originally debuted more than 25 years ago, you can currently score a used set in size large online, thanks to TheRealList. Shop the designer bikini ahead, along with similar bandeau-style dupes at more affordable price points.
