Bolton went on to share that he planned to take a break from touring, to ensure he’s giving his body the rest it needs.

“For the next couple of months, I will be devoting my time and energy to my recovery which means I’ll have to take a temporary break from touring,” he wrote. “It is always the hardest thing for me to ever disappoint my fans or postpone a show, but have no doubt I am working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon.”

The week before Christmas, Bolton performed at the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade. Fans were left concerned for his health, commenting that the singer looked to be “in pain” while on stage.

Bolton first became a household name in 1987, when he released his version of the Otis Redding classic, (Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay.

Though he started his career making rock music, he found fame and adoration when he switched things up and focused more on power ballads.

In 2019, the star made headlines when he appeared to be asleep mid-interview on an Australian breakfast show.

Luckily Bolton saw the funny side of the whole situation, tweeting, “I got my first record deal when I was 15 and I haven’t slept since!!”

“In all seriousness there were technical issues,” he added, but denied that he had actually been asleep.
