Meet the journeyman striker who threatens to overshadow Harry Kane’s debut season at Bayern and tipped for Prem transfer

HARRY KANE has hit the headlines for his incredible start to life at Bayern Munich – but there’s one man who is threatening to steal his thunder.

The 30-year-old England skipper left Tottenham for the German giants in a £104m deal back in August.

He has already scored 21 goals in all competitions for Bayern – with an impressive 17 plus five assists coming in his 11 Bundesliga appearances.

However, there has also been another sensation to rival Kane so far this term and that man is catching the eye of Europe’s top clubs.

Now Serhou Guirassy could soon be heading to the Premier League as a host of English sides continue to monitor his progress.

The Guinea international, 27, came through the ranks in the French lower leagues with Laval.

He then embarked on a journeyman career with moves to Lille, a spell at Auxerre on loan, Cologne and then Amiens.

He then enjoyed a three-year spell at Rennes, scoring 19 in 65 league appearances.

But, after an initial loan spell at Stuttgart produced 11 goals in 22 Bundesliga matches last term, he was on the move again last summer.

That form led to Guirassy sealing a permanent switch to Stuttgart on a three-year contract and it could lead to a fairytale ending after his red-hot form.

He only cost a measly £7.8m, but now his asking price will be at least double that amount after his record-breaking start to this season.

The striker has scored 16 goals in all competitions, with 15 of them coming in just nine Bundesliga matches.

His goal-glut in the first seven games of the campaign shattered the record previously set by Robert Lewandowski and eclipsed Kane’s nine goals in his first seven top-flight appearances for Bayern.

Now he is hot on the heels of the Three Lions man in the chase for the Golden Boot – that’s provided Stuttgart can hang on to their star player as the big boys continue to circle ahead of the January transfer window.
