McDonald’s menu items AXED so far this year – 10 popular snacks you won’t see again

MCDONALD’S has cut ten popular snacks from its menu so far this year – is your favourite still available?

The removal of some of the fast food giant’s most loved items caused some outrage among the chain’s biggest supporters.

Fans weren’t happy to learn McDonald’s has removed a beloved breakfast item from its menu recently.

Potato waffles were axed from the McDonald’s menu in December ahead of the restaurant’s January shake-up.

Fans were left devastated after realising the item had only been on the menu for a short amount of time.

They took to Twitter to share their disappointment.

One gutted customer wrote: “I just want McDonald’s mini potato waffles back.”

While another said: “McDonald’s taking the potato waffles off the breakfast menu has ruined my life.”

At the start of the year, McDonald’s revamped its menu, ditching a number of tasty delights.

But they were only ever meant to stick around for a limited period as part of the McDonald’s Christmas menu.

The Big Tasty – £5.29 on its own or £6.89 as a meal, the Big Tasty with bacon – £5.89 on its own or £7.49 as a meal and Cheese Melt Dippers – £2.29 were all discontinued.

Stores also said goodbye to Cheese Melt Dippers Sharebox – £5.99, Celebrations McFlurry – £1.79 and the Festive Pie – £1.29.

At the same time, McDonald’s took its festive hot drinks off the menus.

The caramel waffle latte and the hot chocolate deluxe are no longer featured as options for diners.

McDonald’s confirmed that the £1.99 Wrap of the Day deal is no longer available on delivery.

The restaurant chain has a changing menu of wraps to add a little something to your midday meal.

They normally cost £3.49 on their own, or £4.99 as part of a meal, but prices can vary.

But the deal which reduces the popular item to just £1.99 has been axed from delivery through Uber Eats, Just Eat and the My McDonald’s app.

The beloved late-night hotspot does have a new addition on its menu this year.

A Double McPlant burger is now on the menu – and has been available in restaurants since January 4.

The burger will cost £4.89 and £6.49 as part of a meal, but prices may vary depending on location.

It features two Beyond Meat patties, a vegan sesame bun, mustard, ketchup, vegan sandwich sauce, fresh onion, pickles, lettuce, tomato and vegan cheese.

How do I find my nearest McDonald’s?

If you’re planning on taking a trip to McDonald’s, you’ll want to know where your nearest branch is.

The chain has a restaurant locator tool on its website you can use to find your nearest one – and check what time it opens.

Bear in mind that McDonald’s serves breakfast every day until 11am.

After that, the menu switches to the normal menu serving meals such as burgers, chicken nuggets and more.
