McDonald’s makes major menu change adding five new items – including a new burger and return of fan favourite item

MCDONALD’S is adding five items to its menu next week – and fast-food fans will be thrilled.

The restaurant giant is bringing back three popular items as well as a brand-new burger.

Maccies fans will be thrilled to know they’ll be able to get their hands on the Chicken Big Mac again from next week

Each of the items will be available in all McDonald’s restaurants across the UK from Tuesday March 29.

The all new Steakhouse Stack burger will be joining the menu for the first time.

Among those set to return is the much-loved Chicken Big Mac – but for a limited time only.

The variation on the Maccies classic sold out in under 10 days the last time it hit menus so fans will be keen to get their hands on it.

You can pick both burgers up on their own or as a meal with a side and a drink.

A Steakhouse Stack will cost you £5.39 by itself or £6.99 as a meal.

The new addition is made up of two beef patties, a slice of cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onions, and lettuce topped with a creamy peppercorn sauce, all in a toasted bun.

The Chicken Big Mac will cost £4.49 on its own and £6.09 as a meal.

The burger caused a frenzy when it debuted in February last year – leading it to sell out in in days.

It meant that lots of fans couldn’t get their hands on it – so they’ll get a fresh chance next week.

It’s a twist on the classic Big Mac with its recognisable triple layered bun – plus two chicken breast patties in a crispy coating, a slice of cheese, lettuce, pickles, and the iconic Big Mac sauce.

Thomas O’Neill, head of marketing said: “We are excited to bring the Chicken Big Mac back to the UK and Ireland.

“It sold out in under a week last year so we know so many people will be as delighted as we are that it’s returning this Spring.

“The Steakhouse Stack is another fantastic development from our menu team, the taste of steak and peppercorn sauce captured perfectly in this newest addition to our menu – delicious!”

Also making a comeback are the ever-popular mozzarella dippers and Easter favourites – the Creme Egg and the Caramel Egg McFlurry.

Maccies fans will be able to pick up three of the cheesy snacks in a pack, each coated in breadcrumbs and served with salsa dip

The two McFlurry desserts include soft dairy ice cream, swirled with pieces of Cadbury chocolate pieces and topped with either Creme Eggs fondant or caramel sauce.

Aside from the Steakhouse Stack – all of the items have been on the menu before, but fans will have to be quick as they’re usually only around for six weeks.

Here’s the full list of items being added and their prices:

How do I find my nearest McDonald’s?

If you’re planning on taking a trip to McDonald’s, you’ll want to know where your nearest branch is.

The chain has a restaurant locator tool on its website you can use to find your nearest one – and check what time it opens.

Bear in mind that McDonald’s serves breakfast every day until 11am.

After that, the menu switches to the normal menu serving meals such as burgers, chicken nuggets and more.

How can I save on my McDonald’s order?

There are plenty of ways you can save on your next trip to McDonald’s.

You should choose your branch wisely – menu prices can vary across different restaurants just a couple of miles apart.

We’ve seen Big Mac meals up to 30p cheaper before, which added up over the course of a year could save you a fair few pounds.

You can also get freebies on your birthday if you’ve got the My McDonald’s app.

Remember to log your date of birth on the app though, otherwise you’ll miss out.

You can get a Big Mac and fries for just £1.99 as well if you fill out the quick feedback survey following your last visit.

All you’ll need is your receipt which should have been issued no more than 60 days after your visit.

A 12-digit code will be printed on the proof of purchase and then you can enter the McDonald’s Food for Thought website to fill out a quick survey.
