But the sweet treat will be dropped today alongside a host of other items.
The news will likely cause ripples through the McDonald’s fan base who have come to adore the pie.
One recently said: “The best pie ever don’t stop doing them.”
Meanwhile, a second branded the pie a “game changer” and another “the best pie yet”.
Another said it was “absolutely delicious” while a fourth added “hope it’s a keeper” and a fifth called for it to be made permanent.
The brand new pie will be dropped alongside eight other menu items today including three McFlurry flavours and the Big Tasty burger.
Among those making the exit is the new KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry, combining soft ice cream with Ruby Chocolate-covered KitKat pieces and wafer bites, and topped with a pink raspberry sauce.
The returning KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry, which mixes KitKat pieces and chocolate sauce, is also being axed.
Fan favourite the Big Tasty, which first launched in 2003, and the Big Tasty with bacon are also leaving.
Both burgers contain a beef patty, melty cheese made with Emmental, tomato, lettuce, onions and iconic Big Tasty sauce.
This is the full list of items that will be axed from menus:
KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry – £2.19
KitKat Ruby Chocolate McFlurry mini – £1.59
KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry – £2.19
KitKat Milk Chocolate McFlurry mini – £1.59

Maccie’s fans aren’t just ruing the disappearance of the White Chocolate and Raspberry Pie either, with some left gutted the Big Tasty will be dropped.
One said “the Big Tasty is so nice. I can’t believe it’s leaving again” while another dejectedly grumbled “no more Big Tasty”.
But it’s not all bad news for Maccie’s fans as there’s an influx of new dishes heading to menus tomorrow (March 13).
McDonald’s regularly shakes up its menu offering to keep customers on their toes, which means sometimes axed items make a comeback.
