Manchester UnitedUnited fans were quick to spot it was identical to his goal against Leicester in 2021[/caption]
That move occurred after the Red Devils allegedly performed a U-turn over allowing him to return to their first-team squad amid huge fan pressure.
But Greenwood provided a reminder to everyone at Old Trafford of his abilities with a fantastic finish to spark Getafe’s comeback in the 2-1 win over Almeria on Saturday.
The star cut inside from the left – which is fast becoming his trademark move – before pulling the trigger and unleashing a rocket straight past keeper Luis Maximiano from the edge of the box.
That was his fourth goal for the LaLiga club since his arrival in September and he celebrated it with a knee slide before being mobbed by his team-mates.
However, as the clip of his goal started going viral on social media, it sent many United supporters on a trip down memory lane.
Back in October 2021, Greenwood was hailed as a “starboy” after an almost identical 25-yard thunderbolt against Leicester.
One supporter shared footage of that effort against the Foxes and wrote: “MASON GREENWOOD RECREATED THIS GOAL AGAINST ALMERIA!”
While another echoed that thought by writing: “Same as his goal against Leicester.”

Greenwood had reportedly been set to be welcomed back into the fold by Erik ten Hag before SunSport exclusively reported United had made a U-turn due to the volatile reaction.
He had not played prior to joining Getafe since January 2022 after being arrested on suspicion of attempted rape, assault and coercive control.
All charges against Greenwood were dropped this February.
