And the caption for the track read: “Get ready to be blown away by the powerful new music video for ‘Thrill’!

“Our talented artist dives deep into the emotional turmoil and struggles he keeps hidden from the fans.

“From behind his mysterious rose mask, he proves himself an incredible lyricist, exploring identity, inequality, and modern society in astonishing detail.”

The video for the song was set in London and hinted that the star was from the capital as he kept referencing the “Big smoke”.

And a number of other clues have led fans to the conclusion that it is Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah.

They include the name being an anagram of “Eddi”, his trademark celebration being performed in the video, and lyrics about Arsenal – such as “They’re gonna (gunner) put it in the paper,” and “Every game is like a final”.

Speculating on social media, one person said: “If you haven’t seen it already, an ‘unknown’ Premier League footballer has just dropped a new track. However, he’s not unknown to most of us; it’s Eddie Nketiah.

A second added: “Eddie Nketiah released one of his first songs under the name ‘Dide’ (anagram of Eddi) if you haven’t heard it already go check it out!”

A third replied: “Eddie Nketiah has got bars #dide.”

And a fourth responded: “It’s Nketiah. Dide is an anagram of Eddi, plus I think he says he’s 23 in the full song.”

Nketiah has played an important role in Arsenal’s title tilt this season, coming in for the injured Gabriel Jesus between December and February.

He has scored nine goals in 33 appearances this season, while also registering two assists.

But Mikel Arteta‘s men suffered a setback on Sunday as they spurned a two-goal lead for the second week in a row to draw 2-2 with West Ham.

It means Arsenal sit four points clear of Manchester City having played a game more.

The Gunners take on the defending champions in a potential title-decider on April 26.
