Man Utd sources say takeover ‘needs to happen soon’ for Erik ten Hag’s sake nearly year after Glazers put club on market

MANCHESTER UNITED need a “quicker resolution” to their ownership saga in order to clarify Erik ten Hag’s position at the club.

And the Dutchman is coming under increasing pressure as rumours of his potential departure continue to swirl.

According to BBC Sport, greater clarity on Ten Hag‘s position will be provided if the club can complete their takeover.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe looks set to claim a 25 per cent stake but the deal has not yet been completed – nearly one year after the Glazers revealed they were considering selling the club.

It is understood the British billionaire would assume control of the football operations at Old Trafford.

This would include making a decision on whether to sack the manager.

However, rules around the bidding process mean it is currently difficult for the Glazers to consult Ratcliffe about Ten Hag’s future.

They travel to Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday searching for a first win in three.

Ten Hag’s side then travel to Copenhagen for a must-win Champions League clash with Copenhagen.
