Man Utd ‘set transfer plan for forgotten wonderkid after missing all of 2023-24 due to knee injury’

MANCHESTER UNITED plan to send Amad Diallo out on loan if he cannot force himself into the team.

The youngster returned to training this week after missing the first four months of the season through injury.

He had been sidelined with a knee problem since August in a blow to Erik ten Hag.

The Manchester Evening News now report that Diallo, 21, will be given six weeks to prove he can play a role for the Red Devils this season.

United understand he deserves the chance to prove himself after returning from injury, the report adds.

However, he will be loaned out before the end of January if he cannot force himself into Ten Hag’s plans.

Diallo’s return to training this week had United fans excited by the prospect of another boost to their attacking options.

However, his return did not come soon enough for Diallo to be included in the squad to face Bournemouth on Saturday.

The Ivory Coast international has one goal and one assist in his nine senior United appearances to date.

He became a fan favourite on loan at Sunderland last season, though, as he helped the Black Cats reach the Championship play-offs.

Diallo scored 14 goals in 42 appearances for Sunderland as he was named the club’s young player of the year.

Supporters also voted Diallo the Championship’s fans’ player of the year.
