MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly lining Marc Cucurella in a sensational loan deal from Chelsea.

The Red Devils are desperate to land a left-back before deadline day.

Tyrell Malacia missed pre-season with a setback carried over from the previous campaign.

And United were left dumbstruck when star man Luke Shaw was ruled out for several months with a muscle problem.

Fabrizio Romano claims the Red Devils are now ringing around clubs trying to find out what players are available.

He says United have narrowed their options down to a three-man shortlist.

And one of those is Chelsea’s Cucurella, who only moved to Stamford Bridge last summer from Brighton.

The Blues paid £65million for the Spaniard, 25, following his impressive debut season in England.

However, Cucurella failed to build on his potential under Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard.

And with Ian Maatsen now in Chelsea’s first team, he appears to be out of Mauricio Pochettino’s plans for the upcoming campaign.

Newcastle had been linked with a move, but they ended up signing Chelsea youngster Lewis Hall instead.

Cucurella played 33 times last season, mainly as the left-sided centre-back in a five-man defence.

Before Chelsea, he was named Brighton’s Player of the Season after a stunning 38-game run at the Amex.

Man City came close to signing Cucurella before the Blues pounced with their mega offer.

But he could now be set to play on the other side of Manchester, with the Red Devils now considering their next steps ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.
