Having a season that won’t stay in the books so far, United have been plagued with injuries and some signings that have yet to meet expectations.

SunSport understands the Red Devils have sent a scout to observe closely Sevilla and Moroccan international En-Nesyri on multiple occasions in the last few weeks.

The Red Devils will also keep a lookout in Madrid for Saturday’s La Liga clash against Atletico Madrid at Wanda Metropolitano’s stadium.

En-Nesyri has been playing in Sevilla since January 2020, having started in 16 out of the 17 games in the domestic league this term.

He has proven to be a valuable asset for Sevilla, who has been having a difficult season so far being 14th in La Liga.

The striker is under contract until June 2025, and he could be sold for a fee of around £16million.

This term alone he has scored eight goals and created four assists – despite his side ending up last in Champions League group B.

And En-Nesyri was one of the best players of last year’s fantastic Morroco World Cup run, including a superb winning goal against Portugal in the quarter-final.

Meanwhile, Sevilla is going through serious financial struggles, having already fired two coaches this season and still having to pay their fees.

They are also wanting to lower the expenses by selling some of their best assets in the next few weeks.

But the Red Devils have had their eye on Stuggart sensation Guirassy who has scored a whopping 17 goals in the Bundesliga this season.

However, SunSport has been told En-Nesyri could be an alternative for the Guinean striker as the 27-year-old does not have United in sight as his next team.

Instead he invasions himself at Premier League rivals Tottenham as there is a higher possibility of him being a starter there.
