Man Utd legend Wayne Rooney lets slip Jose Mourinho’s transfer techniques leaving fans in shock

WAYNE ROONEY has revealed Jose Mourinho has used Football Manager to identify transfer targets.

The Manchester United legend is in charge of DC United and has used the video game to his advantage.

The MLS club have struck a deal with Football Manager to advertise the game in exchange for use of their scouts.

DC United and Rooney are keen to beat rivals to wonderkids in the South American market, which has proved a hotbed of talent in recent years.

Rooney, 37, revealed his former manager Mourinho has done similar in the past, much to the surprise of fans.

Rooney told The Times: “A lot of the market is South America and we’ve done a deal with Football Manager [the computer game] where we give them some advertising and they give us access to the scouts — 11 or 12 of them — they use in different places across the world to help them create the game.

“José Mourinho [a confirmed Football Manager player] has done something similar in the past.”

Fans were shocked to learn Mourinho employed the tactic, despite the veteran boss previously being caught playing the game.

One reacted saying: “Wait Mourinho did it? ”

Another added: “Jose Mourinho has done something similar in the past” has sent me.”
