Man Utd fans call for Bruno Fernandes to be dropped against Bournemouth for shock reason

MANCHESTER UNITED fans have called on Bruno Fernandes to be dropped to the bench for their game against Bournemouth for a shock reason.

Bruno Fernandes is the club captain and by far the team’s most creative player.

How Fernandes has performed in the Premier League this season

Despite this, fans have asked Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag to drop him for their next Premier League game when they host Bournemouth tomorrow.

And it all stems from fans believing Fernandes will not keep himself out of the referees book.

Fernandes is on four yellow cards in the league this season, meaning he is one game away from suspension.

It means that if the 29-year-old were to play the match and pick up a yellow card, he would miss the next league game.

But with that game being a huge match away to Liverpool, fans are desperate to make sure Fernandes is available to play.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan said: “Bruno is on 4 yellow cards, so if he gets another one tomorrow, he’ll be suspended for the Liverpool match.

“He must either be benched or play like an angel.”

A second said: “100 per cent going to be booked for something ridiculous.”

A third said: “He’ll get a yellow for complaining to the referee lmao.”

A fourth admitted: “I was praying he got yellow carded on Wednesday .”

Options in attacking midfield are quite scarce for the Red Devils at the moment, with Christian Eriksen out until the new year and Mason Mount‘s fitness in question ahead of the game against the Cherries.

Considering Mount could return to the team, one fan said: “I’d play Mount.”

But another fan did not believe he would make it in time, adding: “It would’ve been better if Mount was available.”

Man Utd play Bournemouth at Old Trafford tomorrow at 3pm.

It comes after the Red Devils won a mini-treble of Premier League awards.

Harry Maguire was named November’s Player of the Month, with Ten Hag crowned Manager of the Month and Alejandro Garnacho‘s wondergoal against Everton being awarded Goal of the Month.
