Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag reveals he went into dressing room at half-time to fire rocket at flops before 3-0 win

ERIK TEN HAG has admitted to giving his Manchester United players an earful during their Premier League clash with Everton on Sunday.

The Red Devils cruised to a 3-0 win over Sean Dyche‘s side thanks to goals from Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

They went into half-time with a 1-0 lead, but faced a high amount of pressure from the Toffees throughout the early stages.

Ten Hag was far from satisfied with his team’s performance before the break, so much so that he gave them a stern talking to in the dressing room.

During an interview with Sky Sports after the match, the Dutchman said: “After the start of the game we were too easy-going. I criticised the team at half-time. They thought they were already there. You can’t do that.

“You have to do 100 minutes on the pitch. Second half we did very well.

“Our three offensive players scored. That’s what we need. It will help us as a team.”

Rashford went on to convert a penalty 11 minutes after half time to increase Man Utd’s advantage before Martial sealed all three points with a composed strike into the bottom-right corner.

But it was Garnacho’s wonder-goal that got fans talking the most.

Just three minutes into the match the 19-year-old fired a bicycle kick into the top-right corner, leaving fans stunned.

He later admitted: “I couldn’t believe I scored it, to be honest.

“I didn’t see how I scored, I just listened to the crowd and said, ‘Oh my God’. One of the best goals I’ve scored – I’m very happy.”

Meanwhile, Ten Hag said: “It was probably the goal of the season — a magnificent moment.”
