Man Utd announce RECORD revenues as fans stage furious protest over takeover and transfer action stalls

MANCHESTER UNITED have announced more successful financial results on a day when fans protested against the ownership once again.

On the same day the club have announced their latest financial results.

Revenues for the club are up 11 per cent at £170million for the three months ending March 31, reflecting matchday revenue and growth in the club’s commercial business.

Over the full year, United had netted a record £630-£640m and earnings (EBITDA) of £140m-£150m.

Erik ten Hag‘s success in winning the Carabao Cup and progressing deep in the Europa League and FA Cup have also reflected well in the books.

The season saw United post record attendances and revenues on matchday.

This matchday boom came courtesy of record ticket sales of 2.4m, surpassing the previous record set in 2016/17.

Furthermore, season ticket and executive club renewals sold out in record time with the lowest ever churn.

The figures also revealed 146,000 individuals are currently on the club’s season ticket waiting list.

United broke another record in their global memberships, with 360,000 members – the largest paid membership in the world – over the programme for the 2022/23 season.

In terms of cash and cash equivalents, United record £73.7m, a decrease from £95.8m in the same period last year.

However, this figure was up from £31m in the second quarter, reflecting cash inflows from ticket and sponsorship revenues.

Finally, the club announced that long-term US dollar debt was unchanged at $650m (£511m).

The finances have been announced amid a fan protest against the Glazers outside of the club’s megastore ahead of the club’s kit announcement.

Fans have been left angry at the ongoing takeover saga and a lack of progress in the transfer market.
