Man Utd ‘agree personal terms with Rasmus Hojlund but Atalanta reject offer of THREE players in stunning swap transfer

MANCHESTER UNITED have agreed personal terms with striker Rasmus Hojlund but Atalanta have REJECTED a three-player swap.

Erik ten Hag is chasing the Danish striker after giving up on a move for Harry Kane.

The Red Devils have made the 20-year-old their next priority with Andre Onana close to sealing his transfer to Old Trafford from Inter Milan.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper’s arrival in the next 24 hours will be in time to complete his medical ahead of the club’s pre-season tour of America.

The signings of Onana and Mason Mount will mean United have already blown nearly £100m of a reported £120m transfer budget.

However, Ten Hag is desperate to add another striker and has admitted defeat in the race for Harry Kane due to the huge £100m plus price tag and Spurs’ possible unwillingness to sell to a rival.

He has turned to Hojlund but Atalanta have so far refused to entertain a swap offer and are said to want £86m in cash, even though personal terms have been agreed according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Dane scored nine goals in 32 matches last season and United viewed the price as excessive.

They had hoped the Serie A club would be willing to reduce their asking price if three players were exchanged.

Players tipped as potential swaps include Brazilian midfielder Fred who already has interest from Fulham, Galatasaray and Saudi Arabia.

Midfielders Donny Van de Beek and Scott McTominay have been linked with exits from the club as well as left-back Alex Telles.

Another option for is forward Anthony Elanga who Nottingham Forest are said to be tracking.

Meanwhile, Harry Maguire is thought to be considering his future at the club after being stripped of the captaincy.

He could be sold to raise funds for incoming players as Ten Hag looks to rebuild his squad.
