MANCHESTER UNITED have reportedly added another goalkeeper to their wishlist.

The club is looking to sign a replacement first-choice stopper as David de Dea‘s future remains in the air.

The Red Devils veteran’s contract is set to expire next week.

There was initially confidence that the Spaniard would pen a new deal that would cut his wages in half, although that belief is now starting to wane.

And this has seen the club ramp up their attempts to sign a new goalkeeper to put between the sticks next season.

Names such as Inter Milan’s Andre Onana, Brentford’s David Raya and Everton’s Jordan Pickford have been touted as potential options for the club.

Now United are scouting New England Revolution goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, according to Manchester Evening News.

However, the report suggests that he would not be signed to play first choice for the club.

The MLS stopper could arrive at Old Trafford as a number two, allowing the club to let De Gea leave on a free transfer after his contract expires after 12 years.

Petrovic, 23, kept seven clean sheets for his side last season in 21 starts.

His performances saw him finish second in the MLS Goalkeeper of the Year voting last season.

He has also featured twice for the Serbian national side.

Petrovic joined New England last summer and has a contract that runs until 2025, although the club have the option to extend it by a further year.

In terms of a first-choice option, Man United would appear to have a clear run at Onana, with Chelsea now believed to be exploring other options.

While Georgian Mamardashvili, meanwhile, plies his trade for cash-strapped Valencia, who could do with receiving a good fee.
