The Dutch manager handed a debut to Kobbie Mainoo, 17, as he started the game behind striker Anthony Martial.

The Red Devils did take the lead in the 22nd minute as winger Antony whipped in a wonderful curling effort from outside of the box.

The Addicks frustrated the hosts for the rest of the half as the Brazilian’s effort was the only one on target in the opening 45 minutes.

The second half continued in much the same fashion as the Red Devils struggled to kill the game off, that was until the 90th minute when Marcus Rashford found the net to seal their spot in the last four.
