And the traveller realised that they offer cheaper breaks – as long as he flew from Germany.

He explained on Reddit: “Was looking to book a resort break for Christmas flying from London with TUI UK.

“Shared details with Polish friends who came back with an option from TUI Germany, flying out from Germany, exact same resort, board and dates.

“Taking a cheap flight to Germany and then connecting saves me £1600 total.

Flights to Germany from the UK can be found for as little as £12.75 with Ryanair, depending on which city you fly to.

The reason they are often cheaper is because the UK has some of the highest Air Passenger Duty (ADP) tax compared to the rest of Europe.

Sun Online Travel found other holiday deals with savings of hundreds of pounds.

A seven-night all-inclusive stay at Riu Oliva Beach Resort in Fuerteventura was just €672pp (£577) on the TUI Germany website.

The exact same holiday on the UK website costs £822pp for the same dates – nearly £500 extra for the whole trip.

You’d just have to fly from the UK to Basel, which costs just £23.99 each way with easyJet.

Or a trip to the Greek resort Anemos Luxury Grand Resort on TUI Germany costs €1,466 (£1,261) – but jumps to £1,856 on the TUI UK website, a difference of nearly £600.

Instead of flying from the UK, you would fly from Vienna, which can be found for as little as £15 with Ryanair.

So as long as you don’t mind a quick trip to somewhere in Europe – you could save hundreds of pounds.

Until then, we’ve found some cheap TUI UK deals, including 40 per cent off all-inclusive beach holidays and autumn holidays for under £400pp.

And TUI has introduced some new changes to their booking platforms which is good nwes for Brits.

Previously, Brits would have to book flights with TUI to find a hotel to book as well.

TUI now has a new accomodation-only website with more than 12,000 hotels listed – here’s everything you need to know about it.
