Man City turn down £30MILLION transfer bids for England ace who’s only played 18 minutes of Premier League football

MANCHESTER CITY have turned down bids in the region of £30 million for England Under 21 ace James McAtee.

And Pep Guardiola plans to have a proper look at the midfielder on this month’s tour of the Far East before making any definite decisions.

The Etihad boss is known to rate McAtee and he did himself no harm during a year long loan spell with Championship runners-up Sheffield United last season.

The Blades would love to take him back for their return to the Premier League – but City are not rushing into any decisions.

The champions have targeted the midfield for reinforcements this summer and have already snapped up Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea.

However, they waved goodbye to skipper Ilkay Gundogan and pulled out of the race to sign West Ham’s Declan Rice.

McAtee impressed during his spell on loan at Sheffield United last season as he got a taste of senior football.

The midfielder scored nine goals and provided four assists across 43 appearances for Paul Heckingbottom‘s side.

Heckingbottom had reportedly been eyeing a second loan spell for McAtee earlier this summer ahead of their top flight return.

He had made six appearances for City during the 2021/22 season but played just 18 minutes off the bench in the league.
