Pep Guardiola is said to be a huge admirer of the German, which has opened the door for the possible move according to the Daily Star.

The Man City boss signed Kimmich during his time at the Bavarian outfit.

Having signed Kimmich from RB Leipzig in 2015, they won the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal together.

And the success has continued rolling for him since then.

He has won 19 trophies while at the Allianz arena, including the Champions League.

Kimmich is capable of playing in both midfield and at right-back, much like Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold.

However, Kimmich holds the advantage over the Liverpool star when it comes to trophy count, with Alexander-Arnold winning seven with the Reds.

Kimmich has played 20 times for Bayern this season, including 11 times in the Bundesliga.

If City are to buy him this month he will set them back a cool £50million.

But if they wait until the summer, when Kimmich will have just 12 months left on his deal, this price will be slashed in half.
