It has been closed for two months as extensive work on its expansion, redevelopment and refurbishment was carried out.
The redevelopment will bring 50 new jobs to the Scottish city, after the pub was expanded into two former shop units next to the pub site, creating a larger customer area and upgrading the bar and fitting new toilets.
Work got underway at the start of August and the new design is said to “retain and enhance” the area around the bar, as well as creating a new customer area and offering a more “intimate” space for dining and drinks.
Also adding to the new-look pub, there is panelling and artworks in the new extension, which has an open plan design, incorporating fixed seating at the rear.
There is also a back-to-back fireplace.
A new bar has been installed as well as new carpet, the signage has been relocated and new bi-fold shopfront doors added.
Pub manager Ross Henderson told Glasgow Live: “The Sir John Moore is an extremely popular pub and this investment highlights Wetherspoon’s commitment to offering our customers the best possible pub.
“Myself and my team are looking forward to welcoming customers back into The Sir John Moore, and we are confident that they will be impressed by the refurbished and larger new-look pub.”
