Major car company forced to recall luxury model over glass shattering fears

Rolls-Royce urged drivers of the Ghost, Ghost Extended Wheelbase and Ghost Black Badge models to get in touch immediately.

The recall affects more than three dozen motors manufactured between 2019 and 2023 and sold in Australia.

On the Australian government website, the recall notice states: “During an accident with high side impact forces, the glass display screen may shatter propelling glass fragments inside the cockpit.

“If the display screen shatters, glass fragments may be propelled at high speed towards the driver and vehicle occupants and could cause serious injury.”

The notice is accompanied by a full list of the VINs affected.

This can be checked on your car by examining the VIN stamp in the engine bay or on the frame of the passenger-side front door.

If your car is affected, the advice is to contact your preferred Rolls-Royce dealer as soon as possible.

They will then arrange an inspection and repair of the vehicle for free.

For more information, you can contact the company directly on +441243525700.

Rolls-Royce has been contacted for comment.

It comes just weeks from a major recall of two popular EVs coming into effect, after being announced last month.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, Toyota was forced to issue a global recall due to an issue with the wheels on one of its.

And Tesla called back over a million cars in May due to potential safety risks relating to a problem with braking.
