Luton spring transfer shock by REJECTING chance to sign promotion hero.. and plan to raid Championship for replacement

LUTON have turned  to Blackburn’s Belgian keeper Thomas Kaminski — after snubbing the chance to sign promotion hero Ethan Horvath.

Kaminski will jump at the chance of moving to the Premier League but faces competition for games, with Asmir Begovic set to sign on a free, too.

Luton won’t turn Ethan Horvath’s loan deal into a permanent signingAlamy

Rovers want around £6million for 30-year-old Kaminski, whose wages fall within the limits the Hatters plan to pay in the top flight.

Huddersfield’s Lee Nicholls is an option if they cannot agree a fee for Kaminski, though his price is currently too high.

Horvath was shocked to find out he was not staying.

The American loan star helped the Hatters up to the top flight and they had an agreement to buy him from Nottingham Forest for just £1.5m.

Horvath proved to be an essential part of Rob Edwards’ squad last season in the Championship.

The 28-year-old amassed 20 clean sheets in 51 appearances across all competitions.

But the USA international is set to join a raft of other players Luton are set to release.

Sonny Bradley is set to leave at the end of this month, as is Henri Lansbury.

Luton have also announced that Cody Drameh and Marvelous Nakamba will return to their parent clubs.

And several players from the club’s development squad, including Daniel Idiakhoa, Avan Jones, Conor Lawless, Josh Neufville, Callum Nicolson, Casey Pettit and Josh Williams will be dismissed.
