Despite losing, Paul put on a thrilling performance but paid the price in the form of an agonising injury.
The American revealed he suffered a torn meniscus, medial collateral ligament damage but escaped an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
His younger brother, 6-0 boxer Jake, 25, who also made his WWE debut at Crown Jewel, provided a recovery update.
He told DAZN: “He’s doing better than expected.

“They thought it was supposed to be ACL but it just turned out to be MCL and meniscus, which is better.
“He’s rehabbing it in LA and hoping for the best.”
Paul, 27, had a scan on the injury and was captured going through some rehab drills on his social media.
He captioned the post: “I’ll be back in no time.”

Unfortunately for Paul, the setback is due to rule him out of his proposed boxing return in January.
He was going to return on January 14 on the same card as his former opponent-turned business partner KSI.
Paul has not boxed since June 2021, when he took ring legend Floyd Mayweather, 45, the distance in their exhibition.
Conor McGregor’s training partner Dillon Danis, 29, a 2-0 MMA fighter, revealed he had signed to fight Paul and released texts messages between them.
