A MAN who moved into a minivan seven years ago after “life got too expensive” has revealed how he saves thousands by living on the road.
Scott, who runs a YouTube channel called StaticCamperVan, explained how he created his new home and how he keeps costs down.

In one clip, Scott said: “It’s now been seven years since I decided to move into this minivan.
“I just want to give you a little look into how I built it out to make it comfortable for me and just why I have decided to live in a minivan.
“Well life got to be too expensive…when rent got to be more than 60% of my income I knew I had to make a big change.
“I looked at giving a second or third job, I looked at living in a place with lots of roommates.
“None of those things seemed very desirable and that’s what’s brought me to van life.”
Scott then decided to take the plunge and bought the largest van he could afford before kitting it out in a “galley-style” set up in an effort to make it as comfortable as possible.
In the back of the van he has a permanent bed which takes up the length of the space, with a shelving unit on one side and a small kitchen workspace on the other.
Creature comforts include a sink, gas burner and a fridge tucked away under the worktop.
Scott can also cope with the weather all-year-round with roof and floor vents for hot days and a space heater built into the wall for wintry conditions.
Power comes from the car’s battery which is charged by solar panels on the roof and topped up via the alternator when he goes on the move.
Overall, Scott said he “would not have changed anything” about the last seven years and that it is “the most comfortable way” he has ever lived.
It comes after one woman was labelled mad by her family and friends after she bought a bus to use on her weekly shop.
Meanwhile, a driver revealed how he got a £60 parking fine overturned after exposing a loophole.
