New manager Enzo Maresca is looking to build a squad that can compete for an immediate return to the top flight.
According to The Mirror, he is now close to making the first addition to his side.
Conor Coady is on the verge of moving to the King Power Stadium from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Maresca is said to have identified Coady as the experienced leader he wants in his squad.
The defender spent last season on loan at Everton, making 25 appearances as the Toffees avoided relegation at Leicester’s expense.
Coady also has 10 caps for England and was included in Gareth Southgate’s squads for the last two major tournaments.
He is not the only Premier League player being targeted by Leicester this summer.
According to reports, the Foxes are also eyeing a move for midfielder Harry Winks.
