Leeds star Wilfried Gnonto ‘very close’ to immediate Premier League return as he’s set for £19m transfer deal

LEEDS star Wilfried Gnonto is set to join Everton in a £19million move, according to reports.

He will immediately return to the Premier League after suffering relegation with the Whites.

Sport Italia claim that Everton are “very close” to completing the transfer.

Aston Villa have also supposedly been keen on him but the Toffees have pushed hardest for a deal.

The 19-year-old was previously linked with Arsenal and Manchester United.

Gnonto netted four goals and got a further four assists during his one season with Leeds.

He signed for the club last summer from Swiss side FC Zurich for just £4million.

And despite Leeds‘ bad season that saw them go through four managers, Gnonto caught the eye with his speed and dribbling ability.

The wonderkid already has 11 caps for the Italian national side.

If Gnonto joins Everton he would become Sean Dyche’s first signing at the club.

He would add much needed firepower to their attack after the club scored the second-lowest amount of goals in the league last season.

Everton are keen to not be involved in another relegation battle and could add the experienced Ashley Young to their squad after he left Villa.

Dyche is also set to hand Dele Alli a second chance in pre-season, which could see him stay should he impress.

Gnonto is expected to be followed out the Elland Road exit door by the likes of Rodrigo, Tyler Adams and Jack Harrison.
