Goodfellas star Ray Liotta, who died in May last year, has had his Facebook hacked, with trolls sharing fake news and death hoaxes through his account.
The event forced Liotta’s team to reach out to the social media company, in an effort to bring the inappropriate posts to an end. The posts have now been successfully taken down.
Speaking to TMZ, Liotta’s team said Facebook had been “an amazing partner in resolving the issue”.

Fans were alarmed when Liotta seemingly began posting a number of strange stories – including death hoaxes, news links, odd personal posts and fake stories about celebrities, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis and Ellen Degeneres.
Facebook and Liotta’s team were able to control the situation, though a few rogue posts managed to get through, including an unfortunate link to a porn video.
Fans have taken to Twitter to express their shock at the discovery.
One person wrote, “I wish the guy who took over Ray Liotta’s Facebook page either remove himself OR dissociate Ray Liotta out of it and rename it to something else. These posts do so much disservice to his memory. Because it is filled with so much junk and nonsense. Ray himself would dislike these!”

Liotta died in his sleep aged 67 in May 2022 while in the Dominican Republic filming a new movie.
Just recently, his daughter Karsen Liotta and his fiancée Jacy Nittolo paid tribute to him while he was presented with a posthumous Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
On the day, a visibly emotional Karsen held up a portrait of her father with Nittolo, who was seen wiping tears from her eyes as they reflected on their happy memories with Liotta.
“I couldn’t be more proud of [my dad],” Karsen said at the cermeony. “He was a one-of-a-kind actor and the best friend, brother and father anyone could have asked for. I lucked out with you.”
