Kylian Mbappe ‘willing to join Arsenal’ with PSG star dreaming of following in Gunners legend Thierry Henry’s footsteps

KYLIAN MBAPPE is allegedly “willing” to sign for Arsenal in a blockbuster move so he can follow in the footsteps of his hero Thierry Henry.

The 25-year-old French forward has been the subject of intense transfer speculation over the past two summers.

Real Madrid have long-held an interest but he decided against a switch there in 2022 at the last-minute to leave Los Blancos fuming.

It then emerged last summer that PSG had issued their talisman with an ultimatum – sign an extension or you will be sold.

That was after the 2018 World Cup winner rocked the club by informing them that he will not extend his deal.

Mbappe‘s contract with PSG, reportedly worth more than £500MILLION, runs out in June but there is a clause that could see him stay until 2025, but the extra 12 months is a player option, meaning it is up to him if wants to trigger it or not.

Madrid are still courting Mbappe relentlessly and the transfer chase is set to go into overdrive now he has entered the final six months of his contract.

While the LaLiga giants have looked to be his likely destination for several years, a number of claims have emerged that the hotshot is open to offers from elsewhere.

Premier League leaders Liverpool have been linked, but now The Independent is stating that Arsenal are an English club that Mbappe would “willingly join”.

He is believed to be enticed at the chance to follow the Gunners’ all-time top goalscorer Henry’s journey.

However, this update also adds that PSG chiefs still expect Mbappe to join Madrid in the summer.

But It is believed Madrid’s proposal was lower than what they put on the table two years ago for the striker with Mbappe still sitting on the fence about the move.

Liverpool also told Mbappe’s camp when they were previously sounded out that they would not break their wage structure to snap him up, and Arsenal would take a similar stance.

The player has also rejected a lucrative proposal from Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal previously that was worth around £259m.
