KYLE WALKER signed a two-year extension at Manchester City after turning down the chance to join Harry Kane at Bayern Munich.
The Treble-winners’ England defender admitted he was “close” to joining the German giants.

But 33-year-old Walker, whose deal was set to expire next summer, now wants to end his career at the Etihad.
He said: “In the back of my mind, I always wanted to play for Man City but I had to do what was right for me and my future and that was just whichever club gave me the most years.
“Why would you want to leave a club like this?
“It wasn’t like I was going to a worse club.
“Bayern Munich are massive and seeing what Harry is doing there and will do, it wasn’t a step down — it was just who gave me the years to play at the highest level.
“It was close but it wasn’t meant to be. Why should I walk away from City if I am going to get enough game time.
“That’s all I want because to stay at home with the kids would be hard work!”
This is Walker’s seventh season at City following his £50million move from Spurs in July 2017.

And in that time he has seen plenty of superstars leave under Pep Guardiola.
On whether the Etihad boss pushed him to sign a new deal, Walker added: “The decision isn’t really about him.
“He has made it clear that if you have a desire to do something else, then he won’t stop you.
“The club sells itself. I would love to be here until the end of my career.
“I just want to play — I don’t care about the money. You might say that’s a cliché but I am just worried about my happiness.”
